Thank you for your patience Mahone Bay! Join us in congratulating Tim Merry, Mahone Bay's 2024 Representative Volunteer!
Tim is well known in Mahone Bay for his work founding and growing the Mahone Bay United Soccer group. Tim was the catalyst in establishing this group that provides an accessible and affordable soccer program for kids, youth and adults. From very humble beginnings Tim's efforts have resulted in the renewal of the Mahone Bay Soccer Field, basketball court and revitalization of this area. Tim's worked with community leaders and the Mahone Bay Centre to create a fabulous soccer program with a focus on leadership and problem solving skills. Through his leadership, Mahone Bay United has grown to work with several hundred children, training coaches and supports immigration and inclusion through sport. Thank you Tim! The Town of Mahone Bay presents a Community Orchard event, with Dr. David Maxwell.
Join us this Saturday, May 25th at 2pm at the Community Orchard next to the soccer field at the Mahone Bay Centre (45 School St. Mahone Bay) to learn about pruning and training apple trees. This is part of a public engagement strategy to make Mahone Bay an adaptive and resilient community, in the face of a changing climate. This strategy is called MBARC, which stands for Mahone Bay: An Adaptive and Resilient Community. Members of the Climate and Environment Advisory Committee of Council will be present as well as Climate and Environment staff. There will be a traffic disruption in the area of the Long Hill Road intersection with Main Street on Friday, May 24th, beginning at 6 a.m. Vehicle traffic in this area will be reduced to one lane for most of the day. This disruption is necessary to allow Town staff to make repairs to a water line.
Thank you for your patience Mahone Bay! On Tuesday, May 21st, with set-up beginning at 6am, there will be stop and go traffic for both pedestrians and vehicles in the area of 504 Main Street, adjacent to the Main Street & Edgewater Street intersection.
This is necessary for staff to complete repairs to water/wastewater lines. Thank you for your patience Mahone Bay! The Town’s subscription to the Tree Plotter map is coming to a close.
