'Tis the season of hospitality and time spent with friends - that often means more refundable drink containers in our recycling. Did you know that while recycling is always smart, completely removing refundables from the curbside waste collection reduces the costs associated with solid waste management? Happily for us in the area, even if we don't want to take the time to cash in our refundables, Trash for Cash for Charity is willing to collect the refundables AND the proceeds are directed to charities in our community. Call Jayme Rowat at 902-233-8358 to support your community, keep holiday clutter under control, AND reduce the cost of solid waste collection to the tax payer. Win - win - win! |
Traffic is reduced to one lane on Main Street across from the new nursing home today, Friday, December 16th. The outbound lane is closed for street repairs following the watermain break earlier in the week. Traffic services are on site to keep traffic flowing smoothly. We apologize for the inconvenience and we appreciate your patience. |
The repair to the watermain is now complete and water has been restored. If you lost water due to the watermain break, you can expect air in the line and discoloured water. Run a cold faucet until the water runs clear.
If you still do not have water, please call our afterhours line at 902-543-3251.
************************************************
Water service will be interrupted between 201 Main Street and 15 Main Street today due to a water main break. Staff are on scene making repairs and hope to have water restored later this evening.
Please check the Town website for information on what to do after a water disruption.
We apologize for the inconvenience and our team are making repairs as quickly as possible.
