On October 28, 2021 Mahone Bay Town Council gave second reading to the By-law to Repeal the Town's Dangerous and Unsightly Buildings By-law.
The Town of Mahone Bay's Dangerous and Unsightly Buildings By-law refers to the Town Act which has been replaced with the Municipal Government Act. The Municipal Government Act provides the same regulations as this by-law, making this by-law redundant. The by-law is available for viewing here, www.townofmahonebay.ca/by-laws--policies.html There will be a Public Hearing on October 28, 2021 to receive comments from the Public regarding the Town of Mahone Bay's proposed By-law to Repeal the Dangerous and Unsightly Buildings By-law. The repeal of the by-law has been proposed due to a reference to a now defunct provincial legislation (the Town's Act) and the fact that the Municipal Government Act provides the same regulations as the existing Town of Mahone Bay Dangerous and Unsightly Buildings By-law, which makes the existing by-law redundant.
The Public Hearing will be held on October 28, 2021 at 6:30pm on the Town's YouTube channel. If you would like to make a submission to the Public Hearing, please contact Town staff by phoning (902)624-8327, or by emailing [email protected]. A draft of the By-law to Repeal can be read on the Town's website, or at Town Hall. The by-law will be considered for 2nd reading and adoption at a meeting of Town Council held on October 28, 2021 immediately following the Public Hearing. This by-law provides regulations which address the impacts that inappropriate feeding may have on the property and safety of residents and properties owners in the Town of Mahone Bay.
A public hearing will be held on June 8, 2021 at 6:30pm on the Town of Mahone Bay’s YouTube channel to receive written and verbal submissions from the public on the proposed by-law. If you would like to make a submission, please contact Town Hall staff to make arrangements either by phoning (902) 624-8327 during business hours, or by emailing [email protected]. The by-law will be considered for 2nd reading and adoption at a meeting of Town Council on June 8, 2021 immediately following the public hearing. The Strategic Plan is a document which defines the objectives and direction of this Council (2020 - 2024) in which key objectives and actions are identified. Town Council has reviewed the information that we have gathered from all of the Public Engagement that we have been doing over the past few years and they have worked with a consultant to create a Draft Town of Mahone Bay 2021-2025 Strategic Plan, but now we want to know what you think.
