On January 12, 2024 Mahone Bay Town Council gave first reading to the new, amended, Land Use By-law & Municipal Planning Strategy.
The new Land Use Bylaw & Municipal Planning Strategy will replace the existing documents and regulate land use activities across the Town. A public hearing will be held on January 31, 2024 at 7:00pm at the Mahone Bay Legion, located at 21 Pond Street in Mahone Bay, to receive written and verbal submissions from the public on the proposed by-law and strategy. The Land Use By-law & Municipal Planning Strategy will be considered for 2nd reading and adoption at a meeting of Town Council held at the Mahone Bay Legion immediately following the Public Hearing. If weather does not permit the hearing and meeting to occur on January 31st, they will both be rescheduled to February 1, 2024. Copies of the by-law are available for viewing at www.planmahonebay.ca. Physical copies are available at Town Hall upon request during regular business hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 4:00pm. Any questions or written submissions should be directed to Kelly Munroe, Town Clerk, by email: [email protected] or by calling (902)624-8327. UPDATE!
Water service has been restored to all affected areas. Traffic restrictions will still be in place for several more hours while the crews finish up their work. For instructions on what to do after a water shut off, visit, https://www.townofmahonebay.ca/water--wastewater.html Thank you for your patience. There will be a water and traffic interruption on Monday, January 22nd starting mid-morning, and lasting for approximately 6 – 8 hours. This interruption will affect Main Street between Longhill Road and Clearway Street, all of Clearway Street, Skipper Lane, Welcome Street, Wye Street, Shady Lane, Hyland Lane, Garden Lane, and Spur Street. Traffic control will be on site starting at 8:00 a.m., and Clearway Street will not be able to be accessed from the Main Street entrance during this time. This interruption is necessary so that crews can perform repairs on a water main in that area.
Thank you for your patience.
