It's an exciting time for Mahone Bay! Yesterday, the Honourable Susan Corkum-Greek joined Deputy Mayor Francis Kangata to announce $5.6-million in funding from the Province, through the Municipal Capital Grant Program (MCGP), for an infrastructure project along Edgewater Street.
This year design work will begin on a project to extend municipal services (eliminating the last of the straight pipes on Edgewater Street) enhance lighting, develop a multi-use coastal trail, and expand the Living Shoreline. In addition to this funding announcement, the Town has confirmed $1,722,126 in other Federal/Provincial grant funding and are waiting on Federal Government consideration of grant applications for an additional $1,313,135 in funding for this project.
