Comfort Centre Volunteers Needed
The Town of Mahone Bay is seeking volunteers to be the frontline staff for the Comfort Centre at the Mahone bay and District Fire Department at 41 Hawthorn Road. A Comfort Centre is a place where people can go for warming, cooling, electricity, washroom and other amenities during an emergency situation. The Town of Mahone Bay is a partner in Lunenburg County Regional Emergency Management Organization (REMO). Through this partnership local municipalities collaborate to provide a regional response to emergencies and share information with the public.
Emergency notifications and updates will be shared on Lunenburg REMO's social media, and on CKBW 98.1FM and Country 100.7FM.

Emergency notifications are sent out to subscribers by phone, text, email, or by the mobile app. If you are a resident of the Town of Mahone Bay we encourage you to complete the FREE registration for CodeRED to be sure that you receive emergency notifications.
You can register for a managed account which provides you with a username and password so that you can update your contact information to make sure that you get messages and in the manner that you prefer.
You can also to register as a ‘guest’ - this allows you to enter your information but you do not have login information to update your details or preferences.
If you choose not to create a managed account but need to change your contact information, please contact Town staff at 902-624-8327 for assistance.
In addition to registering to receive emergency notifications, residents may also choose to register for notifications from any or all the following categories:
