During Municipal Awareness Week, we celebrate the power of partnerships, inclusivity, and the welcoming spirit that defines Mahone Bay.

Our Town’s Strategic Plan recognizes the importance of meaningful connections, including a warm welcome to those who are new to our community. We’re building toward a future where a welcome begins with a knock on the door, a personal visit from the Mayor or a Councillor, and a refreshed Welcome Pack to help newcomers feel at home in Mahone Bay.

Every conversation and decision at Town Hall is guided by one main purpose: serving the people who live, work, operate businesses, and provide services in Mahone Bay. We see all of you as partners in shaping our shared future.

We are committed to strengthening a culture of inclusion. That work is already underway through engagement tools like Get on Board Mahone Bay that help everyone join the conversation about our Town’s growth, updated policies and bylaws that reflect modern values, and investments in planning and studies that advance accessibility and adaptability. We’re also working with the Housing Accelerator Fund, which supports new and diverse housing options for our community.

Our Grants to Organizations program reflects our commitment to strong partnerships. These investments support arts, culture, and heritage; community beautification and environmental sustainability; community health and wellness; youth and senior programs; and tourism and economic development. And we provide in-kind staff support to share knowledge, build capacity, and work collaboratively with our valued non-profit and community partners in Town.

If there’s an event, program, or project happening in Mahone Bay, whether it celebrates our people and heritage, brings neighbours together, welcomes visitors, or supports local business, you will likely find the Town of Mahone Bay cheering it on and helping it succeed.
