Town Hall will be closed Thursday, September 25th, while necessary repair work is being done to the building's water and wastewater lines. We anticipate the work will be completed through the day and the regular council meeting, scheduled for tomorrow evening, will take place in Town Hall council chambers as planned.
Staff will be working remotely. If you need to contact staff, please call 902-624-8327 or email [email protected]. Since 1969, the Mahone Bay Pool has been where kids learn to swim, families make memories, and people of all ages get in some exercise. Each summer, our awesome student lifeguards and instructors bring the fun, but behind the scenes, the Pool Society needs a new Treasurer to keep things floating smoothly! Think you can handle the finances - budgets, records, statements, all that good stuff? We’d love to hear from you at [email protected].
Bonus: If being part of a fun, community-spirited volunteer Board isn’t enough…how about a free summer swim membership? Wednesday is National Tree Day!
Join us tomorrow, September 24th, at 3pm at the tree donation monument (at the Pond Street entrance to Jubilee Park) as we unveil the names of people who have donated trees to the Town over the past two years. Are you interested in donating a tree? Click here or contact Town Hall to learn more. Exciting things are happening along our beautiful waterfront!
The infill and embankment work at the water’s edge is reinforcing the harbour and laying the foundations for a one-kilometer raised active transportation trail. Soon, you’ll be able to stroll, roll, or cycle from the shops and services at Kedy’s Landing right into downtown, all with a stunning harbour view! The project is starting to take shape before our eyes… can you picture it? Let’s celebrate this step forward for a more connected, vibrant, and active community. The Edgewater Project continues with work scheduled through to the end of 2025. For those curious, here’s a quick look at the project timeline. Please keep in mind, with all major infrastructure projects, timelines can shift due to things like unforeseen underground issues; aligning subcontractor schedules; reliability of inventory, equipment, other service deliveries; delays obtaining permits; weather interruptions. The project team's priority is making sure the work is done right and built to last for decades. Thank you for your patience as we keep Edgewater moving forward! September
Following major underground infrastructure upgrades over the past few months, we’ve hit a milestone on Edgewater! Parish to Main is getting a fresh basecoat of asphalt today and by day’s end, it’ll be two lanes of newly paved road! Sidewalks and pavements will follow soon. It’s looking great, come see the progress!
