Jenny has been a dedicated force in our community for decades. In 1999, she helped establish the Mahone Bay Garden Club, which continues to care for the beautiful public gardens throughout our town. Since 2016, Jenny has served as the club’s President, organizing the annual plant sale with proceeds going towards the ongoing beautification of Mahone Bay. In 2024, Jenny joined the Communities in Bloom initiative, which played a key role in Mahone Bay receiving the national award for Community Involvement—a testament to the hardworking volunteers in our community. Jenny also shares her talents with St. James Anglican Church, where she creates stunning floral arrangements using blooms from her own garden. Thank you, Jenny, for your tireless work and commitment to making Mahone Bay a more beautiful place to live! Following an announcement in the Fall, the Town of Mahone Bay is taking proactive steps to safeguard Park Cemetery and Jubilee Park’s Eastern Hemlock trees from the threat of the invasive Hemlock Woolly Adelgid (HWA). Hemlocks will be treated on Thursday, May 8, 2025. Areas will be marked with signs during treatment and for 24-hours post-application. During this time, the public is asked to avoid these areas. Find an update on the Town's Hemlock Protection Program here.
We are aware of a power outage affecting parts of Town. The outage is due to an issue with NSPI transmission lines. We do not currently have an estimated restoration time.
